(C) POLOFF delivered reftel demarche to MEA Director
(Western Europe) Sandeep Arya on September 23, 2008. Arya
told POLOFF that the GOI has not issued any aid to Georgia as
of now. He stated further that he was not aware of any GOI
plans to offer aid to Georgia either bilaterally or through
other donor mechanisms. Arya told POLOFF that the GOI
usually offers aid only in the case of natural disaster, and
commented that the Indian Embassy in Tblisi has not requested
that the MEA consider the possibility of aid to Georgia.
