(C) On July 6, Econoff delivered reftel request to Humaid
al-Maani, Director of the Secretary General's Office,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Maani concurred that financial
assistance for the Palestinian government was essential. He
further assured Econoff of Oman's continued willingness to
support the Palestinian Authority through its bilateral and
multilateral commitments.
