(C) On July 6, Econoff delivered reftel A demarche to Humaid
al-Maani, Director of the Secretary General's Office,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Reflecting the message that
Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi relayed to the
Ambassador on June 1 (reftel B),Maani responded that Oman
was still considering its official position on recognizing
Kosovo's independence, adding that "these decisions take
time." He further stated that Oman would continue its
internal deliberations on the matter.
