(C) As follow-up to Senior Advisor to the Secretary and
Coordinator for Iraq Ambassador David Satterfield's meeting
with Deputy Foreign Minister Saltanov (ref C),we delivered
ref A and B demarches to MFA Middle East and North Africa
section head Ivan Molotkov on April 11. We reiterated the
USG's appreciation for Russia's efforts to encourage Iraq's
neighbors to become more engaged in Iraq, and urged the GOR
to support Iraqi efforts to invigorate the Expanded Neighbors
process. Molotkov had no substantive comment.
