¶1. (C) A/POL Chief delivered reftel points on February 14
to MFA Americas Office Director Laura Dupuy. Dupuy confirmed
that Uruguay would participate in the Olso Process following
up on its participation in the regional meeting held in Costa
Rica in September 2007. In addition to the other points,
A/POL highlighted the potential impact on IMET training,
which while not substantial in Uruguay, could affect
semi-annual pilot training in the U.S. Dupuy understood the
possible impact and agreed to convey our concerns on this
point and the overall process. Post will report any
substantive reply septel.
