(S/NF) Summary: In reaction to the terrorist attack in Yemen today AmEmbassy Montevideo convened an EAC. The RSO provided details on our additional security measures. In attendance at the EAC were the DCM, RSO, RAOL, DAO, ODC, POL/ECON, MGMT, and MSG. ¶2. (S/NF) Shortly after learning of the attack in Yemen the RSO called in all SDU shifts, an additional LGF shift, and additional police. These additional personnel were deployed around the chancery from 0800-1200 local time. We will provide the same level of enhanced security tomorrow from 0800-1200, on the off chance this attack was one among others planned world-wide. ¶3. (S/NF) We have also mobilized the Ambassador's second bodyguard (they usually work alternate days) and both of them will cover the Ambassador (one serving as an advance agent) for the next two weeks. We will also deploy additional SDU personnel for the next two weeks. We have sufficient funding in our current budget to support this augmentation. ¶4.
