ENGAGEMENT--MEXICAN ACKNOWLEDGMENT

1. ESTCOUNS presented the demarche in reftel to Yuriria
Guadalupe GARCIA Nunez, Director of Multilateral Affairs,
Africa and the Middle East in the Mexican Foreign Ministry
(SRE). Garcia mentioned that Director-General for Science
and Technology Maximo ROMERO Jimenez (who is traveling) had
informed her and the rest of SRE's leadership about the
intended engagement. For her part, she promised to inform
her superiors that the Embassy had informed her the
engagement had taken place. She said SRE would continue to
follow developments and asked ESTCOUNS to inform her or
Romero of further developments.
2. Comment: Garcia had no specific comments but did
appreciate the Embassy's keeping her government informed.
