(SBU) On June 30, Political Minister Counselor contacted SRE's Office of Peace and International Security to urge once again that Mexico recognize Kosovo's independence. POLCONS stressed the priority the U.S. attaches to this issue. The Office's Deputy Director General said the GOM appreciates the points that we have raised on several occasions, but that Mexico's position on independence had not changed. He said that Mexico was unaware of the upcoming EU donors' conference and thanked us for bringing it to his attention.
