Information provided herein is for Fiscal Years 06 and 07. ¶A. FISCAL YEAR 2006 (OCTOBER 1, 2005 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2006) Question: What is the total number of people you can count or estimate as having benefited from SSH during the period? If possible, please disaggregate this number by gender. Answer: For FY06 post received U.S. dollars 69,000 that was distributed to 15 SSH projects. The projects have touched approximately 10,255 Basotho lives. Gender disaggregation estimated as follows: 3,418 males and 6,837 females. Question: Of the people you counted or estimated for Question #1, how many can you count or estimate as having benefited from access to improved drinking water supply (e.g. wells, boreholes, drinking water treatment and infrastructure) as a result of SSH? If possible, please disaggregate this number by gender. Answer: 59 students and two (2) teachers benefited from installation of a water tap on school premises. Twenty males and 40 females. Question: Of the people you counted or estimated for Question #1, how many can you count or estimate as having benefited from access to improved sanitation facilities (pit latrines, garbage collection, wastewater disposal and treatment) as a result of SSH? If possible, please disaggregate this number by gender. Answer: Fifty nine students and the two (2) teachers benefited from construction of toilets for a school. These students include 20 males and 40 females. ¶B. FISCAL YEAR 2007 (OCTOBER 1, 2006 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2007) Question: What is the total number of people you can count or estimate as having benefited from SSH during the period? If possible, please disaggregate this number by gender. Answer: For FY07, post received U.S. dollars 60,000 that was distributed to 17 SSH projects. The projects have touched approximately 60,217 Basotho lives (approximately 20,072 males and 40,145 females). Question: Of the people you counted or estimated for Question #1, how many can you count or estimate as having benefited from access to improved drinking water supply (e.g. wells, boreholes, drinking water treatment and infrastructure) as a result of SSH? If possible, please disaggregate this number by gender. Answer: 2,000 people (students, teachers, and villagers) benefited from construction of a borehole and a reliable water tap installed on school premises (approximately 667 males and 1,333 females).
