The Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD) on behalf of Government of Mozambique and The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC),on behalf of the United States Government, have entered into Compact to be implemented during 5 years. The objective of the proposed program is to reduce poverty through economic growth in Niassa, Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Zambezia by focusing in physical assets investments, policy reform, capacity building and institutional strengthening. The program contains four projects: (i) the Water Supply and Sanitation Project (WSSP),(ii) The Roads Project, (iii) the Land Tenure Services Project, and (iv)the Farmer Income Support Project. Implementing entities for the various projects will include government ministries and agencies, NGOQs, private companies, or other entities. ¶8. This Invitation for Proposals follows the General Procurement Notice that appeared in dgMarket on July 29, 2008; and Jornal Noticias on August 1, 2008 and UNDB Online on August 5, 2008. ¶9. The MCA-Mocambique now invites sealed bids to provide the consultant services referenced above QProposalsQ) for Execution of Technical, Social and Works Supervision for Construction of 600 Water Points in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces. In general the scope of work for this consultancy service is to provide the necessary assistance to select the places where the water points should be installed, training the beneficiary community, develop geophysics studies, develop the water feasibility studies and supervision of 600 water points systems constructions in the following 12 districts: Nampula Province (Angoche, Meconta, Mogovolas, Moma, Mongicual, Murrupula, Nampula Rapale) and Cabo Delgado Province (Palma, Mocimboa da Praia, Mecufi, Pemba Metuge, Nangade).
