(U) On September 3, we received a letter from the Foreign Ministry (MINREX) requesting a meeting for Nicaraguan Foreign Minister SAMUEL Santos with Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Thomas A. (U) BEGIN TEXT OF UNOFFICIAL ENGLISH TRANLATION MRE/DGA-AN/0247/09/08 OGZ/RM/GTC The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua - Office for North America, presents its compliments to the Honorable United States Embassy, and makes reference to the 63rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled to take place on September 16 to 20 of this year. On this point, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs to the Honorable Embassy that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Comrade SAMUEL Santos Lopez, would like to meet with the Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Thomas Shannon on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, to discuss issues of bilateral interest.
