Fernandez-Arias said that Spain will continue to support
Turkey's accession to the EU, irrespective of the progress or
outcome of the case against the Justice and Development Party
(AKP). He also noted, however, that the court case will give
those on the fence regarding accession an excuse to withdraw
support and thus sees Turkey's ultimate successful accession
as a long-term process.
