1. (S) Econoff delivered reftel demarche on May 8 to MFA's
Directorate of Counter Terrorism area specialist Laura
Martinez. Martinez expressed appreciation for the
information and advance notice concerning the proposed UNSCR
1267 listing of the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society
(RIHS). She confirmed that Spain would treat the designation
proposal as confidential and would carefully distribute the
information to the appropriate law enforcement agencies in
Spain.
2. (S) Martinez also said that Spain was currently neutral on
the designation proposal, but would alert us immediately if
Spanish law enforcement agencies detect any activity on the
part of RIHS.
