On January 7, OES A/S Claudia McMurray met with Department of Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs Minister Joan Ruddock to discuss HMG's delegation to WIREC 2008. Ruddock recommended sending REFTEL invitation to DEFRA Secretary of State Hilary Benn. The invitation was delivered SIPDIS to Secretary Benn on January 8. ¶2. In a separate conversation on January 8, a working level HMG official told ESTH officer HMG will soon have an interagency meeting to discuss the composition of the UK delegation to WIREC; however, at present, the delegation and leadership have not yet been determined.
