(SBU) On September 18, EmbOff delivered information in reftel
to Dr. Samo Kopac, Acting Director of the GoS Directorate for
the Environment. Kopac responded that Slovenia appreciates
the U.S. contribution to the subject of biofuels
sustainability and will consider the issues we raised.
However, he pointed out that the sustainability criteria have
not yet been finalized in the European Union and the European
Council, and stated only that Slovenia will "act in
accordance with the (EU) directives, once they are adopted."
