(C) On September 22, emboff met with Mateja Kracun, First
Secretary in the MFA's NATO Section, to urge postponing
consideration of future Prep Com meetings until after the
October 15 Geneva Conference, in accordance with the August
19 statement of "no business as usual" with Russia (reftel).
Kracun said that Slovenia's position is that a Prep Com
meeting should be held in the near future, either before or
after October 15, but the timing is up to the Alliance. She
commented that Slovenia hopes that NATO can find a way to
continue dialogue with Russia; Slovenia does, however,
recognize the need for the Allies to be united.
