(C) On September 19, emboff met with Borut Valencic and
Gregor Kaplan, advisors in the MFA's Security Policy
Division, to inform them of our concerns regarding Chinese
proliferation in the Middle East and to request Slovenia to
approach Beijing on this issue (reftel). Valencic said that
he appreciated the information, especially the specific
examples provided, since Slovenia had not received any other
official reports of Chinese proliferation in the Middle East.
Valencic undertook to pass the information to his superiors
in the Security Policy Division to determine Slovenia's
position on approaching Beijing.
