1. (SBU) EmbOff delivered demarche to Barbara Butinar, First
Secretary at the MFA in charge of UN Relations, and urged the
Government of Slovenia to support Mr. Sidibe's candidacy for
Executive Director of UNAIDS. Butinar said she could not
give any response, but promised that she would forward the
information to "the competent authorities" today. She noted
that she would emphasize that our message should be passed
while representatives are in New York for UNGA.
