(SBU) Per reftel, President Turk and Foreign Minister Rupel plan to attend the 63rd General Assembly and President Turk will address the UNGA General Debate during the morning of Wednesday, September 24. According to the FM's Cabinet, they both currently plan to fly to New York September 22 because Slovenia will hold Parliamentary elections September 21 (although President Turk's Cabinet left open the possibility of flying to New York on election day). They will likely depart New York either September 26 or 27. ¶2. (U) Attendance ¶A. Attendance of the Head of State -- Danilo Turk (note: umlaut over the u),President of the Republic of Slovenia. -- Currently has hotel reservations for the entire first week - Sept. 22-27. -- It is not yet decided whether Barbara Turk will travel to New York. -- Interpretation is not required. ¶B. Attendance of the Head of Government -- No plans to attend UNGA. ¶C. Attendance of the Foreign Minister -- Dimitrij Rupel, Minister of Foreign Affairs. -- Currently has hotel reservations for the entire first week - Sept. 22-27. -- His spouse will not travel to New York. -- Interpretation is not required. ¶D.
