1. On June 3, MFA Division for International Organizations
and Human Security Minister Counselor Robert Golobinek told
Emboff that Slovenia had narrowed its choices of candidates
for the position of International Organization for Migration
(IOM) Director to either the U.S. candidate, Ambassador Bill
Swing, or the Italian candidate, Luca Riccardi. Although
Slovenia had not yet made the final decision on the preferred
candidate, Golobinek gave assurances that either Swing or
Riccardi would be Slovenia's first choice, with the other
candidate serving as Slovenia's second choice in any
subsequent rounds of voting. On June 16, MFA Division for
International Organizations and Human Security Minister
Plenipotentiary Teja Valencic informed Emboff that the GOS
had still not made a final decision.
