In response to reftel demarche, Portuguese MFA Deputy
Director for Disarmament and Security Affairs Joao Lago
thanked us for the information and reported that the
Portuguese Embassy in Canberra would represent the Portuguese
government at the next Missile Technology Control Regime
(MTCR) meeting in November. He added that France was
finalizing EU-approved text for the meeting on behalf of the
EU MTCR members and that Portugal would approve the text
within the next week.
