(SBU) On November 21, emboff delivered reftel demarche to
Director of Political Affairs Paul Chiunguzeni at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Emboff thanked Malawi for their
co-sponsorship of the resolution in First Committee and
inquired about Malawi's abstention from voting. Chiunguzeni
was aware of the resolution but was unsure why Malawi did not
vote. He promised to follow-up with Malawi's representative
to the UN regarding the resolution before it came up in the
plenary.
