(S) In response to ref A points calling for continued
support for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL),MFA
International Organizations Deputy Director Dr. Hamad Bou
Rahma told A/POLCOUNS on December 16 that Kuwait looked
forward to the convening of the STL in March 2009. He also
confirmed a previous Kuwaiti contribution of USD 5 million
for the STL (ref B). When pressed on the possibility of
future support, Bou Rahma said that Kuwaiti decisions on
requests for further donations would be weighed against
progress made by the STL.
