1. (U) GOM notified Post of GOM's decision to initiate an
administrative review of anti-dumping duties on imports of newsprint
in rolls originating in or exported from Canada, Indonesia, Korea,
the Philippines, and the United States.
2. (SBU) The text of the diplomatic note follows:
"KLN 47/08
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia presents its compliments
to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour to
inform the Embassy that the Government of Malaysia has decided to
initiate an administrative review with regard to anti-dumping duties
on imports of newsprint in rolls originating in or exported from
Canada, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, the
Republic of the Philippines and the United States of America.
Copies of the Notice of Initiation, the non-confidential version of
the request and questionnaire will be provided to the High
Commission upon publication of the notice of the initiation of the
anti-dumping investigation in the Government Gazette. These will
also be sent to producers and exporters concerned directly.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia avails itself of the
opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America
the assurances of its highest consideration.
