(SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche points, conveying
concerns about Bank Melli affiliate Assa Corp., to Mr.
Shazryll Zahiran, Principal Assistant Secretary in the
Malaysian Foreign Ministry's Disarmament and
Non-Proliferation Division, on December 22. Shazryll did not
provide any immediate feedback. Econoff also delivered
reftel demarche points to Jeremy Lee, head of the financial
intelligence unit at Bank Negara (the central bank),but did
not receive any reply. We will report back any subsequent
response.
