RESOLUTIONS AGAINST IRAN, BURMA, AND NORTH KOREA

(SBU) Poloff conveyed demarche seeking Malaysia's support for
pending UN resolutions against Iran, Burma, and North Korea
on November 6 to Miss Nur Ayuni Zainal Abudin, Principal
Assistant Secretary for the UN in the Foreign Ministry's
Multilateral Political Division. We followed up with Ms.
Ayuni, but as of November 14 have received no substantive
reply from the Foreign Ministry. We will continue to follow
up and report back any response. Post notes that the GOM did
not support similar resolutions that were proposed at last
year's UNGA.
