1. POLOFF delivered reftel demarches February 29 to Ambassador Oscar
Matondo, Director for International Organizations at the Congolese
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. Matondo stated the DRC supported the principles of
non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. He said the DRC hoped the
current dispute between the international community and Iran would
be resolved peacefully through dialogue. Matondo stated that the
DRC considered diplomatic efforts the first option for settling the
issue.
