1. POLOFF delivered reftel demarche February 29 to Ambassador Oscar
Matondo, Director for International Organizations at the Congolese
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. Matondo identified Minister Counselor Nduku of its UN mission as
Congolese representative to the March 10-14 meeting of the UN
Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in New York. He stated that the
DRC will support the two U.S. initiatives noted in reftel to the
extent they are consistent with the overall goals of the CND.
Matondo said the DRC did not anticipate introducing any initiatives
during the March meeting.
