¶1. PolCouns and PolOff delivered reftel demarche to the new
Vice-Minister of Justice, Musonda Kalusambi on November 21 and
conveyed the same demarche to the new Minister of Gender, Family,
and Children, Marie-Ange Lukiana on December 17.
¶2. The recommendations given in the non-paper were well received by
both ministers. They expressed interest in working closely with the
U.S. to help combat trafficking. Poloff gave both ministers a copy
of the 2008 Trafficking-in-Persons report along with the
corresponding French translation of the introduction and DRC country
narrative.
