1. (U) All times Kinshasa (GMT + 1) unless otherwise indicated.


2. (U) The items contained in this situation report consist
principally of spot information from various sources. This report
is not exhaustive, nor can all the information contained therein be
confirmed at this time.

Security Situation in Goma and Surrounding Area

3. (SBU) Information obtained from a UN security briefing in Goma
noted that, while there was an exchange of fire in Kibati between
7:00 PM and 8:30 PM on November 11, the area is now quiet.


4. (SBU) NGO's were extracted from Lubero approximately 150
kilometers north of Goma, though no further details were available.
The FARDC is moving towards Kanyabayonga (approximately 100
kilometers north of Goma). NGO's were strongly advised not to go on
the Rutshuru-Kanyabayonga axis without escort. The CNDP is moving
towards Kiberizi and Kikuku, approximately 65 kilometers north of
Goma.


5. (SBU) Information obtained from a MONUC military briefing on
November 11 noted that 26 are confirmed dead from the recent
fighting in Kiwanja, and unconfirmed reports of 36 additional
deaths.
