¶1. Embassy Kathmandu would like to nominate
Political/Economic Officer Carla Bachechi to attend the EAP
and SCA Regional Economic Conference to be held in Bangkok
from April 28 through 30.
Potential Topics
--------------
¶2. Topics ranging from promoting economic growth and business
advocacy, trade priorities and strategies, promoting
intellectual property rights and protection, financing
alternatives for small and medium size enterprises and supply
chain dynamics would all be welcome. Another idea is to
spend sometime focusing on how to capitalize on regional
growth and expansion.
Comment

¶3. Given more than a decade of political instability,
economic growth in Nepal has been sluggish and there are
significant barriers to entry for new business. We recognize
that Nepal's situation is likely very different from that of
many of the other countries which will be represented at the
conference.
