Nepalese Delegation Request Meeting with U.S. Delegation

1. (U) The following Nepali officials will attend the Sharm
El-Sheikh Ministerial Conference on Avian and Pandemic
Influenza: Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Jaya Prakash Gupta,
Secretary Mr. Tek Bahadur Thapa Gharti, the Director General
of Livestock and Animal Health, Dr. Purushottam Prasad
Mainali and Dr. Nar Bahadur Rajwar. The Nepalese delegation
has requested a meeting with the U.S. delegation to explore
possibilities for further support to increase the capacity of
the Government of Nepal to detect and cope with an outbreak
of avian influenza.
