(SBU) The following supplants the travel information of the
Government of Nepal's (GON) delegation to the 63rd UN General
Assembly reported in Ref A. Please note addition of
departure dates for the Foreign Minister and the official
responsible for UN affairs. As of September 19, post is
aware that only the wife of the Prime Minister intends to
accompany her husband.
¶A. Attendance of the Head of State.
-- Ram Baran Yadav, President, is not expected to attend UNGA.
¶B. Attendance of the Head of Government.
-- Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister.
-- Arrive in New York on September 22. Depart New York on
September 28. Should be present for the General Debate.
-- Accompanied by wife, Sita Dahal. (Note: The Prime
Minister will also be joined by his son, Prakash Dahal, and
principal private secretary, Shakti Bahadur Basnet. End
note.)
-- Interpretation will not be required.
¶C. Attendance of the Foreign Minister.
-- Upendra Yadav, Foreign Minister.
-- Arrive in New York on September 28. Depart New York for
Washington, DC, on October 3 or 4. Depart Washington on
October 6.
-- His wife is not expected to accompany him.
-- Interpretation is not required but would be useful in
Nepali.
¶D. Attendance of other VIPs.
The following are part of the Prime Minister's delegation.

-- Bhoj Raj Ghimire, Chief Secretary of the GON. (Note:
Ghimire's wife has a U.S. visa, but post does not know
whether she intends to travel to New York. End note.)
-- Gyan Chandra Acharya, Foreign Secretary.

-- Shyamananda Suman, Foreign Minister's Foreign Policy

¶E. Attendance of the Foreign Ministry official responsible
for IO affairs.
-- Rudra Nepal, Joint Secretary for UN and International
Organizations.

Washington, DC on October 3 or 4. Intends to remain in the
U.S. through the Nepali holiday of Dashain and will depart on
or around October 9.
