1. (U) This is an action request - see para 3.
2. (C) On February 12, Ambassador delivered reftel talking
points to Pakistani Foreign Secretary Riaz Khan. Khan
acknowledged USG and EU views, but indicated the Government
of Pakistan (GOP) does not want to be one of the first
countries to recognize Kosovo. Pakistan has sympathy for
Kosovo, but before GOP makes a decision, Khan requested a
list of countries who have already pledged their support.
Khan was interested in Turkey's position.
3. (C) In response to Foreign Secretary Khan's request, Post
requests a list of the countries who have pledged their
support. Please provide an e-mail response to Poloff Jason
Jeffreys.
