NUCLEAR TERRORISM EPG MEETING

(U) On October 8, POLOFF delivered reftel points to Kamran
Akhtar, Director of Disarmament at the MFA, to invite
Pakistan to join the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear
Terrorism Exercise Planning Group (EPG) meeting to be held on
November 13 and 14. Akhtar noted that he could not commit
Pakistan to attending this meeting at this time but that he
would keep us posted if he received word otherwise. Post
will remain in contact with Akhtar to determine Pakistan
participation.
