Pakistan MFA Director for Disarmament Mohammad Kamran Akhtar.
Akhtar assured PolOff that the GOP would not support any
Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Foreign Ministers'
resolution/statement that was contrary to official
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) findings.
2. (C) Several issues were still being negotiated in the lead
up to next week's meeting in Tehran, he revealed. Akhtar
noted, however, that all NAM FM attendees would be cautious
in their tone considering this meeting was in Iran's capital.
Akhtar noted that Pakistan spoke out against an overly
pro-Iran statement at the last meeting of the Organization of
Islamic Conference (OIC).
