¶1. (C) PolOff delivered latest demarche (reftel) to Husrav
Nosiri, the Director of the Foreign Ministry's Department of
American and European Affairs. He said that Tajikistan did
not yet have a position on Kosovo independence, but the
Government of Tajikistan was "discussing the issue seriously."
¶2. (C) PolOff reiterated the offer for the Ambassador to
discuss the Kosovo issue with Foreign Minister Zarifi
personally, as expressed in our diplomatic note. Nosiri said
he would pass the information on to the Foreign Minister.
