1. Following is the translation of the text of a message from
President Ismail Omar Guelleh of the Republic of Djibouti to
President Bush:
"As your country celebrates its 232nd anniversary of Independence, I
join in your joy, Mr. President, and that of all your fellow
countrymen, to commemorate this special event.
May your beautiful country further develop and may all US citizens
fulfill their potential.
Rest assured, Mr. President, that I am entirely satisfied with the
quality of friendly and cooperative relations which unite our two
countries and that both my government and I are readily available to
further promote and develop them.
I also take this opportunity to commend our two countries' excellent
military relations with the counter-terrorism campaign.
Please accept my best wishes for the occasion and my assurances of
friendship.
