¶1. (SBU) Deputy Pol/Econ Chief August 28 delivered reftel
demarche to Masudur Rahman, Director of the Americas Wing at
Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Rahman
pledged to relay our concerns regarding the resolution and
urged the USG to contact directly Bangladesh's Permanent
Representative to the United Nations to discuss the matter.
¶2. (SBU) COMMENT: While Bangladesh has yet to officially
recognize Kosovo, government officials privately have
expressed strong support for Kosovo's independence.
