(U) As requested by G/TIP (reftel),Post submits summary information for the proposal submitted by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in response to RFP GTIP-07-AW-003-112307. The proposal was the only one submitted and Post recommends it for funding. The entire proposal was submitted on the unclassified system via e-mail. ¶2. (SBU) A. Name of Applicant: International Organization for Migration (IOM). ¶3. (SBU) B. Requested Funding Amount: $500,000. ¶4. (SBU) C. Project Title: Assisted Voluntary Return of Victims of Sex Trafficking and Forced Labor. ¶5. (SBU) D. Project Duration: 24 months. ¶6. (SBU) E. The Assisted Voluntary Return of Victims of Sex Trafficking Forced Labor project is part of the IOM,s effort to combat trafficking in persons in the Middle East. The project aims at assisting foreign victims of trafficking in human beings, stranded in the Syrian Arab Republic. Through interviews with victims of trafficking the IOM will assess eligibility based on the criteria stipulated in the Palermo Protocol. In conjunction with the Ministry for the Interior, the project will assist victims of trafficking and forced labor to return to their home countries. Specifically, the project will provide travel and medical assistance, access to bona fide travel documents, and, in some cases, reintegration assistance into their home countries. CORBIN
