ANTI-ISRAEL BIAS

(SBU) Poloff delivered reftel to Henrik Kiil, MFA's Office
Director for Israel and Palestine, on November 24. He stated
that Denmark will likely abstain, together with it's EU
partners, on the UNGA resolutions reaffirming the existence
and activities of three UN bodies that promote a culture of
bias against Israel. He said that Denmark takes an interest
in more balanced UNGA resolutions on the Middle East and will
continue to work within the EU and with "like-minded"
countries toward that end. Kiil also suggested that several
countries, including Romania, Poland, Latvia and Slovakia,
which normally are silent on this issue, could be encouraged
to be more vocal about these Middle East resolutions.
