(C) DCM met with the Secretary-General of the Ministry of
Security on November 19 to deliver reftel demarche. The
Secretary-General promised to include the issue in the agenda
of the next Security meeting. He added that the GoG seeks
greater cooperation with the United States in matters of
counternarcotics. He requested USG assistance in obtaining
law enforcement equipment. In general, the Secretary-General
understood that increased cocaine trafficking through Guinea
could result from a DEA withdrawal from Bolivia, and was
receptive to increased cooperation.
