1. (U) This cable contains an action request for ISN/CB -
please see para 4 below.
2. (SBU) 2008 Intersessional Implementation Meeting: During
a June 20 meeting, Alexandra Jones, Acting Director for
Counter-Proliferation, Department of Foreign Affairs and
Trade, advised us that the dates for the Australia Group
Intersessional Implementation Meeting in The Hague were now
set for October 8-9, 2008.
3. (SBU) 2009 AG Plenary: Jones also informed us that
France had agreed to host the 2009 AG Plenary, but would not
be able to do so until September of that year. France
understood that June was the preferred month, but
construction of its new conference facility would not be
completed until September. Jones sought confirmation that
the United States agreed with the September 2009 timing of
the Plenary.
4. (SBU) ACTION REQUESTED: Department is requested to
confirm whether France's proposed September 2009 time frame
in which to host the 2009 Australia Group Plenary is
acceptable.
