1. (SBU) GOA remains uncertain whether it will be able to
attend a Pakistan donors conference at the Foreign Minister
level, and on what sort of commitment it could make. DFAT
Pakistan Director Lisa Rice-Madan reiterated that the
uncertainty about the details of the conference (now
including its timing and location) make it difficult to make
a firm recommendation and get an answer from the FM, although
Australia is concerned about Pakistan and interested in
participating.
2. (SBU) In reftel B, post forwarded several other questions
from the GOA concerning this proposed conference. If we can
provide more details, post believes this will help GOA reach
a quicker answer.
