SUBJECT: INVITATION TO MRS. BUSH FROM EGYPTIAN MFA AND THE
INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR MISSING AND EXPLOITED CHILDREN
1. This is an action request; please see para 2.
2. Post received para 3 letter October 9th via dipnote. We
respectfully request that the Department pass the invitation
to the Office of the First Lady.
3. The text of the invitation reads as follows (informal
Embassy translation). Original dipnote to be sent separately
to NEA/ELA.

The Foreign Minister's office extends its compliments to the
American Embassy in Cairo and advises of the upcoming meeting
that will be held in Cairo on Thursday, February 19, 2009 in
cooperation with the International Center for Missing and
Exploited Children (ICMEC). The MFA seeks that opportunity
and encloses an invitation from the First Lady to Mrs. Laura
Bush to participate in the previously mentioned meeting.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes this opportunity to
renew its highest consideration to the Embassy of the United
States of AMERICA in Cairo."
