1. (S) In a December 15 meeting with PolOff, the Director
for International Organizations in the Ministry of External
Relations, Ambassador Adolphe Nahayo, said that Burundi:
- continues to support UNSCRs 1737, 1747, and 1803 concerning
Iran's nuclear or delivery system development efforts;
- does not engage in any arms trade with Iran and does not do
business with designated entities which are subject to
sanctions under U.S. law;
- has no current defense cooperative agreements and no plans
to pursue any such agreements with Iran; and
- will not allow Iran the use of its territory or airspace to
transfer weapons-related items and materiel.
