DECLARATION ON PRISONERS OF CONSCIENCE

(SBU) On April 22, Post delivered reftel demarche and talking
points to the Argentine MFA's Acting Director General of
Human Rights, Counselor Fabian Oddone. Oddone said the
declaration in principle is fine with the GOA. He later said
he rendered a positive opinion and forwarded it to the
Undersecretary for Foreign Policy for approval. Post will
follow-up to confirm MFA instructs its UN permrep to
co-sponsor the declaration.
