1. (SBU) The Ambassador has a February 13 meeting scheduled with
Argentine Minister of the Economy Martin Lousteau. This
would be an excellent opportunity for the Ambassador to
resume his efforts on behalf of Mr. Eduardo Saiegh, the
Argentine citizen who in 1980 was kidnapped, torturGKQLQoQ).
In order to ensure that this issue merits Mission advocacy
at this level, and to advance it in the most effective,
coordinated fashion possible, post reiterates its reftel
request for Department instructions.
