In a follow-up discussion on reftel delivered on November 21
to the MFA's International Organizations and Human Rights
Department, Bernadette Kollar told POLOFF on November 25 that
Hungary abstained during voting in the UN Fourth Committee
deliberations. She noted that it would be very difficult to
change a voting position once the resolution came out of
committee to the UNGA for a vote. Kollar stated that Hungary
would join the consensus EU position during voting in the
UNGA session.
