(S) In a follow-up to Hungary's initial response reported in ref C, Dr Kristof Horvath, Head of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Agency's (HAEA) Department of Nuclear and Radioactive Materials, told PolOff on November 3 that Hungary, in principle, is prepared to support the Norwegian sponsored training program outlined in refs A and B. However, Horvath stated that all proposed Iranian participants will require a security screening by the Hungarian National Security Agency prior to entry into Hungary for the on-site training. He reiterated that Hungarian HAEA officials are in contact with the IAEA concerning the proposed training program. Foley
